Make A Christmas Wish by Julia Williams Blog Tour

How utterly gorgeous is this cover!

This was my first Christmas read of the season so far and what a corker it was!

I have read one other book before where the main character is dead (The Dead Wife’s Handbook by Hannah Beckerman) and I have made no secret in saying it is one of the best books I have ever read!

So when I read the synopsis of this book and realised the lead character Livvy was also dead, I couldn’t wait to get stuck in!

Livvy is married to Adam and they have a son called Joe. One day before Christmas, Livvy is involved in a terrible accident in a supermarket car park and is seriously injured and taken to hospital. It’s not long after this that Livvy realises that she didn’t make it and is in fact dead. Once the penny drops and she understands that she is in fact in “limbo” and she can look at her family getting on with their lives, she isn’t impressed that she hasn’t passed over and when a black cat called Malachi starts talking to her and tries to get her to see the error of her ways! It’s not an easy mission as Adam is now seeing Emily (who she finds out Adam was having an affair with before she died) and Livvy wants to try and break them up by haunting them! Her son Joe can see and hear Livvy, so when he tells his Dad he obviously doesn’t believe him at first!

It took me until I was half way through the book to realise that Adam and Emily are the names of my children! I wondered why I kept finding it weird reading those two names together!

I know this sounds a really weird and far fetched story, but as well as being quite sad in parts, it was very funny and got me thinking “is this what really happens when we die and can’t pass over”?!

There were a couple of parts in the book that left me in absolute bits and the ending, well, you will just have to read it!!

I absolutely loved the story and this book is one I will read again and again at Christmastime.

Thank you to Helena at Avon Books UK for sending me a copy to review.

Look out for a giveaway of this book coming soon............
